She is famous for having debt consolidation troubles, but former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona is now keen to move on from her bankruptcy.

Having struggled with debt management and been declared bankrupt in August 2008, the media personality is hoping to open her own takeaway restaurant in the near future, The Sun reports.

She has reportedly undertaken debt management plans and now has her eyes set on a kebab outlet, a fish and chip shop or a sandwich deli.

A friend of Katona told the newspaper that the mum-of-four "wants to find a sound small business", which she can then manage for the rest of her life.

"Her favourite idea is a fast food joint. She is always pictured chomping on a kebab and wants to cash in on that image," the friend reportedly commented.

Katona's debt troubles have intensified in recent years. She was declared bankrupt at the High Court in London after failing to pay her tax bill, while more recently Iceland dropped her from a £200,000-a-year advertising contract.

Following Katona's bankruptcy, finance expert Jasmine Birtles told the Mirror that the celebrity's money management "was a disaster waiting to happen".

Citing her out-of-control spending, Ms Birtles explained that it doesn't matter how many millions of pounds a person earns, once they spend it they'll "get in trouble".

Katona reportedly got into trouble spending her earnings on bikes and supercars for estranged husband Mark Croft.

It is believed that the celebrity was earning over £1 million before her bankruptcy thanks to advertising deals, her magazine column and ghost-written books.
