Debt management could increase UK financial positivity
Thursday 10th September 2009
That is according to new research from Scottish Widows, which indicates that 66 per cent of Brits are either pessimistic or very pessimistic about the economy.
A further 37 per cent are negative about their short-term finances, with a similar 36 per cent equally unsure about the long-term.
People that are struggling financially and unsure about their financial future could find it helpful to speak to a debt management specialist for assistance in getting things back on track.
Regarding the survey's discoveries, head of commercial management at Scottish Widows Alison Morris suggested that now was the optimal time for UK consumers to tackle their finances head-on.
She said: "It's not surprising that the nation is feeling downbeat considering the economic turmoil that the country has been through in recent months, but this could also be the ideal time for people to review their finances and really sort out their priorities.
"No one wants to live in fear about their day to day cash flow."
She added that although "green shoots may be starting to emerge", the recession itself should be the "wake up call" people need to start tackling their problems.
Those wishing to take action in solving their debt problems could consider speaking to a debt management specialist.
The survey also revealed that 23 per cent of Brits are pessimistic about their careers.
