Could debt management save Fergie from bankruptcy?
Could debt management save Fergie from bankruptcy?
Thursday 15th October 2009
The former wife of Prince Andrew had planned on hosting hundreds of family and friends in an extravagant, champagne-filled party at Windsor's Royal Lodge, but was forced to shelve the idea due to lack of money, the Sun has revealed.
While Fergie will be disappointed that she had to cancel the birthday bash, her problems go much deeper than an inability to afford a party - something that debt management could help her with.
According to the Sun, a friend of the Duchess said that the mother-of-two had debts that were "out of control" and that bankruptcy appeared to be an inevitability.
The friend said: "If she doesn't get her finances under control she will end up millions in debt again. Someone may have to bail her out.
"Her debts are out of control and the dam is set to burst. It feels like bankruptcy is a case of 'when' rather than 'if'."
Fergie could consider speaking to a debt management specialist in order to avoid this supposed inevitable bankruptcy.
It is believed she will now celebrate the occasion with a low-key meal for only her closest pals at a restaurant in London.
The Duchess's spokesman has said that she will "work through" the problems.
It was widely reported earlier this year that fellow celebrity Neil Morrissey entered into an individual voluntary agreement in order to repay his creditors.
