Brits taking action to cut debt levels
Brits taking action to cut debt levels
Friday 13th June 2008
In a poll conducted by You Gov on behalf of GE Money 37 per cent of respondents said they had changed their spending habits over the last six to 12 months.
Of these more than 50 per cent said they are consciously trying to cut back.
However, despite these efforts, nearly 40 per cent of people admitted that they still have no money left at the end of each pay cycle.
A GE Money spokesman welcomed the news that Britons are behaving more responsibly towards their financial situation and urged anyone who has not taken action to gain control of their finances to do so as soon as possible.
He said: "As we approach summer we are urging people to take an active interest in sorting out their finances. With the cost of living increasing this is no time to relax; it is important that people take stock and ensure they know exactly what they owe and when."
