Accidents in bad weather may mean drivers need debt management

With icy roads and snow in almost all areas of Britain, insurance claims are 40 per cent up compared with normal December days, according to insurance company AA.
People who are involved in accidents and incur costs as a result might benefit from talking to a debt management company about the solutions available to them such as debt consolidation.
The potential for further accidents has not subsided, with forecasters predicting that ice and snow will persist in regions across the UK, the BBC reports.
Some roads have experienced pile-ups involving a number of vehicles, including the M27 in Hampshire, while queues of up to 30 miles have been reported on the M25 around London.
Simon Douglas, director of AA Insurance warned drivers who have decided to temporarily abandon their cars until weather conditions improve.
He said: "There's no worse Christmas gift than finding someone has left a dent or scrape on your car and not left a note to admit it.
"Organised criminals wait for just this kind of opportunity to steal cars, especially upmarket ones. But insurers almost always reject these claims because theft of an unattended vehicle left open with the keys in it is specifically excluded from policies."
Some criticisms have been levelled at public authorities this week over the apparent lack of grit on some key road routes.
In response, the Local Government Association described these claims as "unverified, unsubstantiated and unjustified", according to the news provider.
